Player of the Week – Zane Kirchner
09 July 2012

The Vodacom Bulls returned from Durban with not much to show for their efforts against the Sharks on Friday, but for Zane Kirchner, it was a good evening at Absa Stadium.

The fullback played with much confidence in a match where his team were on the back foot most of the time, but Kirchner showed why Heyneke Meyer picked him in his first Springbok team against England.

The 28 year old fullback’s positional play was great, his kicking game on song and he often forced the Sharks into defensive positions with his booming boot, kicking with either left or right foot.

He also scored a well taken try, his 20th in total in his 69th match of Super Rugby and his sixth of the season.

This resulted in his 100th point in the competition.
