In a performance dominated by powerful ball carries, Werner Kruger certainly pulled no punches in his return to Super Rugby. The hard working tight head prop works tirelessly in the scrums, giving the Vodacom Bulls a righty shoulder whenever needed, cleaned out rucks all evening and provided excellent support in the line-outs and general play. He also made some wonderful tackles, knocking back the Cheetahs opponents.

In fact, all Kruger still had to do was to score a try, something he did in the 55th minute. This came after great support play by the prop close to the line. It was his second for the season against the Cheetahs, after he also scored against them in Bloemfontein early in March. He also scored against the Waratahs earlier in the season.
