Player of the Week - Wynand Olivier
04 June 2012

The Vodacom Bulls vice-captain Wynand Olivier proved with a strong showing against the Stormers why he is not only the most capped midfielder in Super Rugby in South Africa, but also why he was picked for his first Springbok team by new coach Heyneke Meyer.

Olivier was also included in the squad of Meyer’s immediate predecessors, Jake White and Peter de Villiers, a good indication of the versatile player’s abilities.

Olivier carried the ball with purpose against the Stormers and numerous time broke the advantage line. His defence was rock solid and he gave his two Springbok-opponents in the Stormers midfield a torrid time, often hitting them with solid tackles.
