Player of the Week – Dawie Steyn
22 April 2012

It is difficult enough to make your Super Rugby debut against a foreign team, but add to the fact that you are replacing a Springbok who is in great form and it is understandable why Dawie Steyn is player of the week.

Steyn replaced Dean Greyling for the Brumbies clash and proved that his move from the Pumas to the Blue Bulls, in order to get Super exposure, was a good one.

Steyn stood strong in the scrums, had a good run that almost resulted in a Vodacom Bulls try and contributed all over the field.

“Dawie should be pleased. He made a lot of tackles, scrummed very well and proved his worth in all facets of play. He played really well,” coach Frans Ludeke commented afterwards.

“To add to this, he became a father for the first time as well before the match.”
