He grabbed the opportunity to start in his first Super match for the Vodacom Bulls with both hands and after a great performance at outside centre, JJ Engelbrecht’s name is one everyone’s lips.
The 23 year old, who hails from Kirkwood in the Eastern Cape, ran the Lions ragged with his side-stepping moves, manage to create space for his teammates with his crisp distribution and in a combination of those skills, created a great try for teammate Juandré Kruger to score a first try in Super Rugby.
Engelbrecht normally plays on the left wing, but his performance at outside centre showed off his skills, capability and versatility to good effect.
