Player of the Week: Jacques Potgieter
25 March 2012

It was expected of Jacques Potgieter to announce himself to the international Super Rugby audience with a bang. The tearaway flanker is already known in South Africa, where his big hits and storming runs have been ruffling opponents in the last couple of seasons. His debut year in Super Rugby started well, but it was against defending champion team, the Reds, that Potgieter showed all his skills. There were hits galore, good play in the tight phases and then a runaway try of more than 50 metres where he left one Reds defender after the other in his wake.

The try secured the bonus point and broke the back of the opponents. After that, the Bulls could really cut loose and scored a very impressive win.
