Voltbet is getting in on all of the Dubai Sevens action
29 November 2012

The Springboks year end tour has come to an end and while the team goes their separate ways to start preparing for the Super XV season with their provincial clubs, the BlitzBokke are here to provide exciting Sevens rugby.

England will be looking for their third consecutive Cup final win in Dubai and New Zealand will want to make up for their dismal three consecutive losses last year and come back strong. Fiji were victorious earlier this year in Australia and are the early leaders of the HSBC Sevens Series followed by New Zealand and South Africa sitting in third.

THE POOLS FOR DUBAI

POOL A - Fiji, Kenya, Spain and Scotland

POOL B - New Zealand, Argentina, Wales, Russia

POOL C - South Africa, Samoa, England, Portugal

POOL D - France, Australia, Canada, USA

Pool C definitely makes up the Pool of Death without question. South Africa won this event in 2008 and face Samoa (HSBC Champions in 2009/10) and reigning Champs England for a spot in the Cup Quarter Finals. Portugal will be aiming to cause at least one upset, England will need to improve on their showing in Australia and Samoa are always up for a challenge. The BlitzBokke finished strong in Australia and will need to carry this through to stand a chance of ending in the top two positions in the pool. This group is a tough one to call and may result in a couple of upsets.

Not forgetting the Nedbank Golf Championships currently taking place at Sun City, that sees three South Africans among 9 others battling it out to claim the top spot. Lee Westwood is gunning for his third consecutive title but many have their doubts due to his poor performance in the DP World Tour Championships last weekend. Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel make up the rest of the pack and the experience between all three players cannot be underestimated. At the close of the first day, Westwood and Oosthuizen are high up on the leaderboard, all players have had a chance to study the field and their opponents and rest assured they will all come out firing for the rest of the tournament.

Berig op rugby365: "Irish giants Munster have been forced to change their plans to add former South African Under-20 captain CJ Stander to their European Cup squad. The Irish province confirmed that they have instead added James Coughlan to their squad, as permitted under competition rules. Stander, who was first choice fill that slot, has been omitted after suffering a fracture in his right hand in the 31-3 Pro12 win over Glasgow Warriors at the weekend. He ruled out for a month by the injury. The former SA U20 captain sustained the injury after scoring two tries on his first Munster start against Glasgow last Saturday. The injury only came to light when the South African saw a specialist on Monday and he is expected to be out of action until January."
