All South Africans have had the last few weeks to look back at the memorable year so far and have a short break in the rugby schedule. This weekend we get back into the swing of things with a host of games lined up. Wales face Argentina, France take on Australia, Scotland have to deal with New Zealand and the most exciting game sees Ireland host our Boytjies, the Springboks.
All South African rugby supporters will be pulling up a seat to watch the Springboks in action since their not too impressive 3rd place in the Castle Rugby Championships with poor performances away at Argentina and at home against New Zealand. As for Ireland, they managed to beat Australia in the RWC last year but have not set the world alight since that result with a disappointing record of just 2 wins in their last 8 matches. The sides have met 6 times since 2000 with the series balanced at 3 wins each.
Springboks have named a side with 3 changes since the All Blacks encounter; Pat Lambie gets the start at flyhalf with JP Pietersen returning from injury and replacing the injured Habana on the wing. Juandre Kruger replaces Andre Bekker at lock in a solid side that looks balanced.
The Irish have been hit hard by injuries, with Captain Brian O’Driscoll, hooker Rory Best, flanker Sean O’Brien and fullback Rob Kearney all set to miss the November internationals entirely. Paul O’Connell was a late withdrawal in midweek. The Irish have named a side with 8 changes to the one that lost out to NZ in June. Jamie Heaslip is named as Captain in the 8th man position while SA born hooker Richardt Strauss makes his debut.
Voltbet is backing the Springboks for this one especially with the inclusion of Pat Lambie that should get the backline going and the fact that the Irish have been hit with countless injuries that make their outlook a bit gloomy.
