Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-19 Coach Paul Anthony made two changes to his side that will play Western Province in the final of the Absa Under-19 championship in Durban on Saturday.
With Kefentse Mahlo out injured in the semi-final against Free State last weekend, Jade Stighling moves from the bench and will start on the rightwing. Jacques du Plessis has also been moved back to flank and will start in the seven jersey ahead of Christiaan de Bruin, with Irnè Herbst returning to the number four slot.
De Bruin moves to the bench in a swop with Herbst.
Stighling’s spot is taken by Tokkie Mtsweni.
The Blue Bulls have lost both their league encounters against WP this year and finished second to the Cape side on the log as well.
“We are well aware of the massive task that awaits us,” Anthony said, “but we see it as a massive opportunity rather. We can right all the wrongs of the season, including those two defeats against them, by winning the title on Saturday.”
The team to play WP at 12h00 is: Jacques Rossouw, Jade Stighling, Dean Moolman, Burger Odendaal (v/c), Ruwellyn Isbell, Francois Tredoux, Carlo Engelbrecht, Ruan Steenkamp ©, Jacques du Plessis, Roelof Smit, Dennis Visser, Irnè Herbst, Andrew Beerwinkel, Theunis Reynolds, Justin Forwood. REPLACEMENTS: Jacques Taylor, Jan Enslin, Jannes Kirsten, Christiaan de Bruin, Tokkie Mtsweni, Juan Smit, Clyde Davids, Neethling Fouchè.
