Blue Bulls, Province in U21 showdown
25 October 2012

The Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-21 side dominated all during the league stages of the Absa Under-21 Provincial Championship this year, but that will count for nothing when they face DHL Western Province in the final at the neutral venue of Mr Price Kings Park in Durban on Saturday.

After suffering a shock defeat in their opening match of the season against the Border Bulldogs in East London, the Blue Bulls dominated the division and their 50-24 win over the fourth placed Toyota Free State Cheetahs U21s at Loftus in last weekend’s semi-final added to that belief.

They have scored more tries than any other team and conceded the least to end eight points ahead of their nearest competitor on the log after the league stage.

Western Province finished third on the log but managed a win in the dying seconds of their match against second placed KZN in a soaked Durban on Saturday.

In fact, Pat Howard scored in the last movement of the match to secure the dramatic 19-18 win and a return to Durban for the final.

Predicting a winner will be a tough call. The Blue Bulls won the first of their two encounters in the league by 35-23 at DHL Newlands, but lost the return fixture at Loftus Versfeld (34-29), something that could bolster the confidence of the Cape Town side.

Kick-off is at 14h00 and the match will be screened live on SuperSport1.

Morning all
The only WP team who could be called favourites to win on Saturday is their U/19's. The other two teams are definitly not the favourites for those titles. Even their U/19's will have to really play well to win. Hoping for three maybe going home empty handed quite possible. I can't believe they play Allende at 12 ahead of Brache, you surely can't hand someone his debut in such a pressure match in a critical position like inside centre. Well only time will tell.

Muzi,
You remind me of Blue Machine on Rugby365 when my interest was schools rugby.
I believe Arno and Francois Venter will be available for u21's and if Serfontein is over his injury, he will play in the u19 team.
The forwards of the u21's was the factor for the huge wins against Sharks and Free State.
Jean Cook was magnificent against FS.
Adendorff left the pitch early with a bump on his hip - I hope he recovers although I think he will be on the bench if Arno plays.
The player that impressed me most against FS was Tian Schoeman, the flyhalf. Kicked 8/9 fromm difficult positions and is a great distributor of the ball. I wont be surprised if he gets the nod for Saturday with Jantjies on the bench.
The team play as a unit and believe in each other. Unlike the seniors who played like individuals and are ill disciplined and a bunch of moaners. Kruger spent half the game bitching to the ref. He completely forgot to plat rugby.
I am looking forward to a great game. Hope the rain stays away

GO BULLETJIES!!
