Little niggles in Blue Bulls camp
15 October 2012

At least six Vodacom Blue Bulls players will start this week’s training ahead of the Absa Currie Cup semifinal against The Sharks in the swimming pool. It is not in anticipation of the wet weather encountered by teams visiting Durban in recent weeks, but rather a valuable chance to recover from niggles after a long season.

According to Vodacom Blue Bulls team doctor, Org Strauss, the likes of Louis Fouchè (AC joint), Dewald Potgieter (AC joint), Jacques Potgieter (Stomach muscle strain), Francois Hougaard (left foot contusion), Akona Ndungane (pectoral muscle) will all be in swimming pool on Monday and not on the field, whilst big Flip van der Merwe will be doing cycling whilst recovering from a bruised shoulder.

The rest of the team will be training on Monday and be joined by the abovementioned players on Tuesday.

@Blue Blue Moon
I doubt the Bulls will get JC we have Dean,Dawie and now Morne Mellet at loosehead prop.
Maybe JC could solve our problems at tighthead prop.

@Blue Blue Moon
I left out big Marcell because the cheetahs used him as a tighthead and loosehead.
Scarra is blitz but his size is a worry for me without abit of space he may struggle.
Callie is an all round hooker i rate him very highlt that is why he's a bulls player next year haha.

If there is one guy we must try and loan for Super Rugby it must be JC Janse v Rensburg

Interesting JC was an absolute monster and I will go and sit in the corner for the next 30 minute as punishment for his omission. I was tempted to have Marcell vd Merwe at 3 but watching him on Saturday was very dissapointing. Dont you rate Siya ans Scarra?

Sarutdays two games could very well be according to varying scripts . The one being between two teams in form playing positive rugby to try and outplay each other. While the other can be a boring affair where the teams tries to make the least mistakes. So what i'm saying one game will be 2 teams trying to win and the other 2 teams trying not to loose.

I love it when my Bulls rise above expectations. Middle of this year we looked like certain promotion match candidates, and look at us know. We are definitly not favourites for this one, but it will by no stretch of the imagination be an easy match for the Sharkies. Whoever wins this match will win the Currie Cup as easy as that. There is only one team that has troubled the Sharks at Kingspark this year and they will be back there on Saturday. We will have to be amazingly good to pull this off, but is is nothing we haven't seen before.

The question we all want to ask the Bulls management is why didn't Lionel Cronje get game time at 10?
Mr Cronje was the SA under 20 player of the year in 2010 he was seen as a better prospect than brummer,sias,boshoff and co no doubt he has more potential than Louis Fouche due to the fact he has a better all round game,he can spark a backline plus he attacks the gainline flat at 10.
The only person who can aswer this question is Mr Pine Pienaar i hope he has no personal problems with cronje.
IMHO Bulls do not trust or rate Lionel's kicking game that's up to vlokkie to sort that out.

Anyone up for a little selection game? Let's try and pick the best 15 out of the Currie Cup thisyear . 3 Rules one they shouldn't have played for the Boks since Jan 2012 they must have played in at leat one match in the competition and lastly should not be Blue Bull ( as we all will probably pick 15 Bulls).

19)Stander vs Deysel
20)Hougaard vs Reinach/Mcleod
21)Fouche vs Bosman
